Introduction

For this tutorial I am using Visual Studio Code (https://code.visualstudio.com/), mainly because it is a nice IDE and it is cross-platform. This means you should be able to follow along on your favorite platform.

To set up this tutorial, I've installed a clean virtual machine using the Linux Mint 18.1 Serena 64-bit distribution (https://www.linuxmint.com/download.php). I'm using the Cinnamon desktop version.
